In this post: Looking for Thanksgiving table decor for your holiday entertaining? These simple elegant Thanksgiving table setting ideas will inspire you to create a warm family holiday.
My tablescapes are like fingerprints. No two are exactly alike.
I don’t know exactly when I started to enjoy setting unique tables, but there’s no doubt it’s become a real passion of mine. I enjoy developing an individual theme for each table, a sort of defining concept, and then teasing out the finished product with components that best communicate the idea I’ve selected.
Florals play a big part, but so do candlesticks, table linens, plate patterns and stemware. I never just pick out pretty dishes, but rather endeavor to create a specific feeling or environment.
Color palette is key, in fact it’s likely the most important factor and many of my tables include at least something that’s vintage, often a mix or a variety of pieces.
Thanksgiving Table Decor
The season in which I style the greatest number of tables is almost always fall, from post-summer soirées to the beginning of the holiday season, culminating with my favorite celebration, Thanksgiving dinner. This is the holiday that feels the most cozy and family-oriented to me, with the focus solely on being grateful for life’s bounty.
For this reason, it’s the event that I’ve set the most tables for and I’m sharing my favorites here, to inspire you for your own family celebrations. Of course, these tables can be appropriate for any number of seasonal occasions, so enjoy and let them speak to you in the way that’s most personal to you.

1. Soft and Pale Autumn Table
A soft-toned table with a peaceful palette, the blues and aquas can appear almost coastal in feeling, yet the pops of autumn color offer a bit of a surprise.
2. Dough Bowl Centerpiece Autumn Table
Comprised mostly of classic fall colors with a pop of peach tinged roses, the dominant piece here is the dough bowl filled with flowers. The animal print plates provide a note of individuality.
3. Velvet Pumpkin Tablescape
A scattering of pumpkins inrichly hued velvet offer the perfect vehicle for presenting a palette that ranges from the palest blush pink to a deep lush wine.
4. Autumn Color with Pink Tablescape
One of my personal favorites, this table’s foundation is based around a typical fall plaid tablecloth, but the infusion of pink with this traditional palette lends it a bit of a curve out of the ordinary.
5. Pale Neutral Fall Tablescape
This setting utilizes another plaid foundation, a blanket bathed in dry tones of brown. It’s balanced with the use of a pretty blush pink but the effect is a table that appears neutral for the season.
6. Burnished Copper Tablescape
This mix of copper hues, from russet to pink, stays decidedly on one side of the color wheel, ignoring the golds and browns of a typical Thanksgiving table. Rustic, but feminine, this one is a favorite among readers.
7. Casual and Formal Mix Tablescape
The theme here was to mix casual with formal, using fine china and crystal with more rugged elements like the moss covered planter and the burlap acorns. Shades of green pay homage to nature, as well.
8. Soft Vintage Thanksgiving Table
This one is another personal favorite, undoubtedly the most feminine and romantic of all of my fall tables. Its unique characteristics pair a very pale palette of creamy white and blush pink with vintage tableware in silver and porcelain.
9. Pumpkin Swag Centerpiece Thanksgiving Table
Contrasting the pale table above is probably the darkest of my tables, a quintessential autumn tableau using bronze with copper and gold. The surprise is the door swag that fills the dough bowl as a centerpiece.
10. Bronze and Blue Thanksgiving Table
Another table that mixes rustic with elegance, the painted gourds in metallic colors are tossed about the burlap tablecloth. Bronze is the key color, but it has an unusual mate that comes in the form of the pale blue accents.
11. Harvest Fall Tablescape
This table celebrates the seasonal harvest, with apples and pears determining the color feeling of the presentation. Bold florals and the napkin mix riff off the fruit filled centerpiece.
12. Gilded Thanksgiving Table for Two
One of my earliest tables is centered on the notion of a Thanksgiving for two, delivering elegance to a couple that might be celebrating the holiday away from family. It utilizes gilding and crisp white with crystal and jewels to maintain the aura of a special occasion.
All of my tables mix a variety of components and the challenge is to keep them cohesive while bringing a uniqueness to the final result. I’m already planning something new for this year’s table, and I hope you found inspiration from the tables presented here.
